How can you tell an impostor from the real eco friendly item?:
If you think price or brand is a good judge, think again. Neither one of those criteria are reliable. You can find a great product at a below average price or find a toxic-filled product from a well known brand.

So what's a woman to do?:
I've given you shopping tips according to product type to help you determine if a product is eco friendly. Whenever possible I give you tips on easily found products that you can get in your local supermarket.

In some instances, good products can't be found on the grocery shelves so in those cases I have provided a link or suggestions on how to find the product online or in a specialty shop.

It's also important when deciding on skin care products as placing anything next to or on top of your skin is an important decision. Always choose the best organic skin care products you can find. And of course don't forget Alpaca!. An Alpaca (if you didn't know) is similar to a Llama but considerably smaller & originates from South America & unlike the Llama is bred only for it's fiber (wool). The reasons for mentioning this animal are:

* because it has natural "wicking" properties and those who can't wear wool often find they tolerate alpaca just fine.

3RLiving. As you can guess from their name, 3R is all about reducing waste, reusing unwanted parts and recycling. They have a wide range of products and what I really like is that they offer a Wedding/Gift Registry. How fun is that!

Another great source is Yes, It's Organic which offers a wide range of organic, fair trade and eco friendly products such as clothing, baby needs and furniture. What I like about this site is that you can shop by fabric type.
