Eco Friendly Shoes - Are Real & Available Today!
I never knew there was such a thing as "eco friendly shoes" until I did a random search on the words on Google!. Boy was I in for a surprise!.
The first company that came up was Simple Shoes. I watched their company video and was inspired.
What a breakthrough in thinking. If you can make a shoe eco friendly, then you must be able to make just about anything that way!

So what makes a shoe environmentally aware? There are two ways to do it.
One is make a shoe from sustainable materials such as hemp and cork. The other is to recycle materials such as rubber tires, soda bottles and carpet.
I was surprised by just how many options there were out there. PlanetShoes.com offers a wide range of shoes, even vegan shoes.
Sole Rebels Shoes comes with an amazing story. This is a shoe company in Ethiopia that was created to provide jobs for the poverty-stricken population.
It now employs over 150 people and operates a Fair Trade shop. This means the employees are treated fairly, their working environment is safe and the employees are paid a fair wage for their work. Their shoes are made from organic cotton and recycled tires.
Tree Hugger will also link you to several casual green shoe makers.
My favorite resource for vegan shoes is Great Green Shoes. This blog reviews and list several different shoe options by type of shoe. It is a wonderful resource.
All these good companies doing something good for the environment. Who ever thought shoes could make such a powerful statement? "Buy green shoes to support these companies and make your own statement!".
