Can you really live an eco friendly lifestyle in the "real" world?

Are you confused about "safe" products?

Overwhelmed by the eco friendly options available?

Are you downright paralyzed by information overload?

You are not alone. This is exactly how I feel and why I created this site.

The content here is meant to help you make heads or tails of the eco friendly products and lifestyle options for you and your family.

I attempt to answer the question, "How green can you be in the "real" world?"

You won't find tips here like become a hermit, eat only grass and shun all technology.

What you will find are:

  • realistic ideas on how to be environmentally friendly in ways that you and your family can live with.
  • energy saving ideas for your home. Global warming is everyone's problem but for most of us, tackling the issue within our own home is the most realistic way to contribute to solving the problem.
  • healthy eating tips that are in line with nature. Tips like when to buy organic, what sugar substitutes are ok, and how to decode food labels.
  • valuable lists of products that are safe for you to use. Skin care and household cleaner companies are among the worst offenders when it comes to toxic ingredients. I will give you shopping cheat sheets and easy to understand ingredient warnings.

There are countless things you can do to go green, some more obvious than others. For instance, many people do not realize there are eco-friendly exit signs that can be installed in any public building and will save a huge bundle of energy and are much safer than the old-fashioned signs seen in most places today.

Just like a true digest, the eco friendly tips I share with you will be in small bite size pieces. Links to news sites related to topics will be provided.

So that we get off on the right foot, I should make it clear that I am not a saint by any means. I color my hair, feed my kids TV dinners on game nights and do lots of laundry. I am a regular busy mom just like you.

That is why my site is for real women with rushed schedules, tight budgets and multiple demands on time.

I also live with real people who are not on the "green bandwagon." Convincing my husband and kids to recycle is a losing battle.

If you are nodding your head and saying "yes," then you and I will be fast friends.

Come here when you have questions or need green tips.

If I haven't answered your question, email me and let me know. I will research it and then share it with you.

Little by little we can make a better earth for ourselves and our families.
