Propylene Glycol - Antifreeze on Skin?

What is Propylene Glycol? - The official definition of Propylene Glycol is that it is a "sweet colorless, viscous, hygroscopic liquid used as an antifreeze and in brake fluid and also as a humectant in cosmetics and personal care" - pretty scarey stuff heh!.

Propylene glycol actually alters the structure of your skin and by doing so lets other toxins penetrate deep into your skin's layers.

The skin's job is to protect your insides and keep harmful invaders out. Why would you knowingly use a product that defeated your own natural defenses? The answer is you wouldn't.

Skin care companies that hype "deep penetrating" claims are really saying, "Hey, we are opening the door to every other bad guy that comes along for the ride." In addition it has been linked to cancer, allergies and endocrine disruption.

This ingredient hides under many other different names.

Should propylene glycol be contained in skin care products?

The rule of thumb that many people use is, "if the ingredient name consists of many chemical sounding parts strung together then I'm really going to check it out before I put it on my body!".

After checking this chemical out my opinion is that propylene glycol doesn't belong on me!
